Simpson Moira
Moira Simpson's work as a freelance director and cinematographer spans 25 years and encompasses an impressive list of National Film Board, independent and television productions. Her most recent film for the NFB is Kosovo Dreams.
Her NFB credits include Turnaround: A Story of Recovery; At the Crossroads, one of five one-hour films from Reckoning: The Political Economy of Canada; To Canada with Love and Some Misgivings; The Growing Up Series and the internationally acclaimed Feeling Yes, Feeling No. Her most recent film for the NFB was Flipping the World: Drugs Through a Blue Lens, a revealing exploration into the world of youth and drug addiction. As DOP Moira recently completed principal shooting of A Safer World, a three part series on homophobia.
Recent television documentary directing credits include the series High Tech Culture and Quiet Places as well as the one-hour documentary Marker of Change, the story of the creation of a national women's monument remembering the 14 women murdered in the Montreal Massacre. She is currently directing a one-hour documentary on this country's Media Titans, part of a series based on Peter Newman's best-selling book on the Canadian establishment.
