Applin Anne-Marie

Member of the NFB Board of Trustees.

Anne-Marie Applin is the founder and president of Applin Marketing and Communications, a Toronto-based solutions provider, specializing in strategic planning and integrated design, development, and implementation. The company's client-list spans a diverse spectrum of industries, both in Canada and abroad, in the fields of financial services, pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, health care, hospitality and tourism, arts and culture, and education.

Ms. Applin has been involved with The International Bach Festival (Toronto) since its inception in 2003. She has played an instrumental role in each festival and currently serves as president and chair of the executive committee. She is also a member of the board of management for the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts and a director of the Arthritis and Autoimmunity Research Centre (AARC) at the University Health Network. A member of the OECA/OTÉO board of directors since 2001, Ms. Applin currently chairs its Strategic Planning and Priorities Committee.

Most recently, she completed a six-year term on the TVOntario (OECA) board of directors, serving as chair of the revenue, development, marketing, and communications committees. She was also president of the TVOntario Foundation. She is a past governor of the University of Toronto and has held board and/or committee posts for such organizations as the Advertising Review Board of Ontario, the Canada-China Business Council, and the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation.

Ms. Applin is a recent recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and the University of Toronto's Arbor Award and was a nominee for Toronto's "Women Who Make a Difference" award.
