Portrait Page Marcy

Marcy Page has pursued an interest in animation for nearly 30 years. Prior to joining the NFB in 1990, her personal film, Paradisia, garnered 15 festival awards internationally. She also animated with over a dozen companies and taught animation courses at San Francisco State University and the California College of Arts & Crafts.

She's helped lead the way in marrying computer technology and artistry at the NFB, as producer on the Oscar®-winning, 3D-generated co-production Ryan and the stereoscopic films Falling in Love Again, June and Moon Man (made with Imax's SANDDE technology). Marcy also produced the acclaimed multi-screen shorts The End of the World in Four Seasons and The Boy Who Saw the Iceberg.

Among her NFB productions and co-productions are works with world-renowned animation directors such as Paul Driessen, Janet Perlman, John Weldon, Chris Hinton, Gayle Thomas, Sheldon Cohen and Chris Landreth, as well as emerging talents like Craig Welch, Torill Kove, Brian Duchscherer, Munro Ferguson and many others. Her work has helped to shape dozens of acclaimed films that together have garnered over 200 international awards for the NFB and its celebrated animation program. She remains committed to seeking out eclectic and unusual animation productions that push the envelope of the medium.

Page has produced more than 80 animation projects for the NFB, including its most recent Oscar-winners Ryan (2004), The Danish Poet (2006) and Wild Life (2011) nominated for an Oscar.
