Samuelson JoDee

Portrait Samuelson JoDee

JoDee Samuelson, of Charlottetown, P.E.I., has worked as an art teacher, illustrator and cartoonist. She has also been active with the Island Media Arts co-op. Her first animated film, The Bath, won her the Fuji Film Award from the Linda Joy Busby foundation in 1990, and received kudos at festivals in France, India, Australia, Sweden, Chicago and Montreal. The 1992 Atlantic Film Festival named her "most promising new director." Other animated work includes short sequences for Skip to the Beat, directed by Lee Fleming and Carol Millett. The Sand Box is her first film for the NFB.
