Mannix Veronica Alice
Through a Blue Lens is the second documentary that Veronica has shot in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. Down Here, a one-hour documentary she produced and directed for Baton Broadcasting, Vision TV and the Knowledge Network, profiled poet and political activist Bud Osborn. Veronica formed Eldorado Film Productions Inc. with her husband, Dan Mannix, in 1993. Her work as a producer of adventure films took her into the wilderness of British Columbia, Chile, Argentina and Antarctica. The Mannix team produced and directed ArmChair Adventurer and Kids on the Wall for the Knowledge Network, VR TV and the Outdoor Life Network. In 1995, Veronica and Dan joined a crew of six on a 49 foot steel sailboat that crossed the Drake Passage to Antarctica to document the first ascent of Mt. Foster, Smith Island. They came back with a two-hour documentary called The Northanger Antarctic Expedition for the Outdoor Life Network in the US.
