Krepakevich Jerry
Jerry Krepakevich is a director, writer, editor and producer whose filmography is comprised of more than ninety films, including animation, documentary and drama. Originally from Saskatchewan, he joined the National Film Board in 1967 after a career that encompassed theatre, farming, carpentry, photography and radio.
Krepakevich's films, and in particular his North West Centre productions, have won numerous awards. These films include Elk Island, Long Lance, Shooting Stars (a Stein/MacLean Production in co-production with the NFB and Allan Stein), Foster Child and The Spirit Within, which has collected six awards.
Other productions include Coppermine and Prairie Grasslands: Wind Country (a co-production with Karvonen Films), winner of six 1992 AMPIA awards, and Totem: The Return of the G'psgolox Pole (2003).
He retired as NFB North West Centre producer in December 2001.
