Portrait Loader Alison Reiko

Alison Reiko Loader began her filmmaking career as a student of traditional animation at Concordia University. At the school's student newspaper, she learned typesetting and upon graduation went to work in graphic design. After several years of designing corporate logos and brochures, Alison returned to her first love - animation by way of 3d computer animation. She also became active in Montreal's Japanese Canadian community, which inspired a move to Japan. She worked for two years in Tokyo, designing characters and sets for Playstation games and animating corporate videos for clients such as Sony and Mitsubishi. Alison returned to Concordia University to teach digital animation. Showa Shinzan, for the National Film Board, is Alison's first professional film.
