Bisaillon Yves
Yves Bisaillon was born in Montreal and earned a degree in Urban Planning from
Université de Montréal and in Communications from Université du Québec à Montréal.
After working as a TV journalist and director, notably for Radio-Canada, he joined the
National Film Board of Canada as a producer in 1997. His numerous credits include
Raymond Klibansky: From Philosophy to Life (best Canadian work, FIFA 2002), Just Watch Me: Trudeau and the '70s Generation, La Cueca Sola (best Canadian short to mid-length documentary, Hot Docs 2004), The Cabinet of Doctor Ferron (best cultural documentary, 2004 Gémeaux Awards) and What Remains of Us (official selection, International Critics' Week, Cannes 2004; best
documentary, 2005 Jutra Awards).
He also produced Who Shot My Brother? (People's Choice Award, Festival du nouveau cinéma 2005), Nadia's Journey (Caméra au poing Award, RIDM 2006), Medicine Under the Influence (best nature and science documentary, 2006 Gémeaux Awards), Junior (best Canadian feature documentary, Hot Docs 2008) and The Memories of Angels (best Canadian feature, Festival du nouveau cinéma 2008).
His latest productions at the NFB, A Dream for Kabul and The World According to Monsanto, were both nominated for Gémeaux Awards in 2009. Yves Bisaillon is currently associate producer with ORBI-XXI.
