Thompson Bonnie
Since joining the NFB in 1987, Bonnie Thompson has served in a number of capacities, both in marketing and training, and is active in supporting Alberta women artists and filmmakers.
Based in Edmonton, she produced Through these Eyes, about a fiery debate between academic and conservative forces over controversial school program, and The Enemy Within, a look at German POWs that premiered on History Television. Many of Bonnie's productions focus on Aboriginal issues, including Totem: The Return of the G'psgolox Pole, named Best Documentary at the imagineNATIVE Media Arts Festival, and Honour of the Crown.
Bonnie's credits also include Unsuitable Actions, an award-winning look at sexual harassment in schools, as well as Worst Case Scenario, about a community's opposition to a sour gas well, broadcast on CBC's Nature of Things. She has also produced the high-definition War Hospital, focusing on the world's largest field hospital handling wounded from war-torn Sudan.
Thompson has more than 50 production credits in documentaries, features, animation and web projects, including the new interactive documentary Bear 71 (2011) and Wild Life (2011), nominated for an Oscar.
