Starr Peter
Peter Starr's career with the NFB began as a film editor in Montreal, working with such notable directors as John Spotton, Colin Low, Donald Brittain and Roman Kroitor.
As Ontario Centre producer, Peter has been nominated for 3 Gemini Awards î for East Side Showdown, Dream Tower, and the multi-award winning Aftermath: The Remnants of War. Peter has also garnered two Genie nominations for Best Feature Documentary for The Herd and Spirits of Havana. Other acclaimed productions include Speakers for the Dead, named Best Documentary at the Reel Black Awards, Tango in a Cold City and Dream Machine.
Peter has recently completed No Place Like Home, a poignant film about child poverty in Canada; the Storyline Entertainment co-pro Shipbreakers, a visually stunning look at a vast maritime graveyard; and the multi-award-winning short documentary Hardwood. His latest projects include Aging Beauties, about elderly women living out their final days in prison.
