Wong Germaine
As Quebec Centre producer, Germaine Ying Gee Wong has worked with many of the NFB's new and emerging filmmakers. Her recent credits include the multi-award-winning Igloolik Isuma/NFB co-pro Atanarjuat - The Fast Runner; Earth to Mouth, an acclaimed look at four seasons in the life of Wing Wong Farm; and Open Secrets, examining homosexuality in the military during WWII.
She also produced Mr Mergler's Gift, hailed as a «dynamite story» poignant yet uplifting» during its World Film Festival premiere by the Montreal Gazette; A Day So Beautiful, a stark portrait of a young man with a terminal illness; and Solo, a humorous look at one man's search for Mr. Right.
Germaine spearheaded the Centre's Doc Shop project to provide university and college students with filmmaking experience, and has had a wide-ranging career at the NFB, as coordinator of the NFB's Multicultural Program, Executive Producer for the NFB's Atlantic studio, and Director of Operations in Paris.
