McCrea Graydon

Portrait McCrea Graydon

Graydon McCrea has worked for the NFB since 1976; for the past 17 years as an executive producer based in the NFB's studio in Edmonton. He has produced/executive produced more than 100 films, many of which have been honoured with awards at national and international festivals including four Geminis at Canada's premiere national television festival, a Blue Ribbon for first place at the American Film Festival in New York, and a Special Jury Award at the Banff International Television Festival. His productions have been shown on television in more than 75 countries.

An award-winning filmmaker in his own right, Graydon took a leave of absence in 1983 to produce, direct and co-edit the acclaimed documentary Summer of the Loucheux, which won top prizes at festivals across North America and Europe.

Graydon's NFB productions include such landmark documentaries as Obaachan's Garden, Through a Blue Lens, John McCrae's War: In Flanders Fields, and Joe Viszmeg's Gemini Award-winners In My Own Time - Diary of a Cancer Patient and My Healing Journey: Seven Years With Cancer.
