Description
An elegiac requiem, False Saints is an abstract examination of society's misplaced deification of architecture and urbanization in the modern world, and the impact of that disjunction on our relationship to nature. This is Sutherland's first professional film.
Take six promising animation filmmakers from across Canada, plant them in the NFB's English Animation Studio, give them 12 weeks to create extremely short animation from concept to release with the full support and assistance of NFB creative experts and, voilà, the NFB Animation Hothouse! This is a practical prototype to both "talk the talk" of theory, and "walk the walk" of actually doing it.
